Hegeler Carus Mansion is bringing the excitement, traditions, suspense, and fear of the 19th century October nights back from the dead!
Family-Friendly Tour: Come join us for a spook-tacular adventure at the Hegeler Carus Mansion! Nothing scary here, just good old-fashioned fun! Join in the children's games, activities, and stories that were popular in the 19th century. There'll be more treats than tricks here! Costumes are encouraged (although no glitter or spiked shoes are allowed in the Mansion). This is approximately a 1-hour activity during the listed hours. Adult Tour: As you move through the Main Floor, stationed and costumed guides will entangle you in a web of customs and superstitions unique to the Gilded Age. Was being buried alive a real cause for fear? Who might you find lurking about in a Victorian cemetery, and why?Appropriate Victorian dress for guests is encouraged but not required (although no glitter or spiked shoes are allowed in the Mansion). This is approximately a 1-hour tour, guests will be directed in intervals on a first come, first serve basis. Persons under 18 are allowed with an adult, but please note that the content is related to Victorian Funeral and Halloween traditions and may be a bit macabre for some audiences. Note: Tickets are non-refundable.

Join us for an evening of spooky cake decorating. Decorate your very own 6-inch round, vanilla or chocolate phantom-inspired cake in the Family Room of the Hegeler Carus Mansion in LaSalle, IL. Kids Day Out
Join us from Noon - 3:00pm on Saturday, September 14th on the lawn of the Hegeler Carus Mansion for Kids’ Day Out featuring interactive chemistry displays, storytelling, children’s games and activities from a bygone era, free popcorn provided by Heartland Bank and more!
Kids ages 5-13 are free with adult supervision and pre-registration (below).
