Up to ten guests are guided through the Main and part of the Ground Floors of the Mansion, including a bird’s eye view of America’s oldest existing gymnasium. You’ll see rooms that have been restored as well as rooms in their original state. In addition, you’ll also hear stories about the family that lived in the home and the legacy they left.

This tour lasts about an hour, and the cost is $15 per adult, $12 per senior, and $12 per student (K-12). Veterans and Active Duty Military are free of charge.

When part of something just won’t do, the Whole House Tour is right for you. Our most popular tour, this is a guided adventure beginning in the 7th floor Cupola and working downward through nearly every room and every floor, immersed among stories and artifacts, until finally reaching the Boiler Room beneath the Basement.

The Whole House Tour, lasting between 2.5 and four hours based on the number of guests, features two breaks with complimentary bottled water. It is priced at $100 per person with a maximum capacity of ten.

In order to ensure the safety and integrity of the Mansion and its artifacts, additional restrictions or rules may be applied.  Any infringement upon these restrictions may be result in cessation of the tour without a refund.

While most folks want to hear the whole story, there are some who simply want a quick glimpse of the Hegeler Carus Mansion's interiors. Hegeler Carus Mansion is pleased to announce the pilot launch of
the Self-Guided Tour!

Beginning April 14 and running every Sunday from 1pm until 3pm, up to 40 guests at a time will be permitted to walk the Main Floor, browsing the rooms that guests of the Hegeler and Carus families would have seen...as well as the Laundry Room and Gym on the Ground Floor.

There will be a volunteer, staff member, or docent on hand to answer any questions.

The cost of the Self-Guided Tour is $10 per person.
