Hegeler Carus Mansion Partners with Local and Regional Businesses on Unique Workshops
‘Would you like to learn a new skill or to enhance an existing skill while learning its history?’
The Hegeler Carus Mansion is partnering with local and regional Businesses on unique workshops that are sure to please. The workshops include quilting, lacemaking, cake decorating and self-care (hair brushing) classes.
English Paper Piecing with Quilting in the Valley will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 9am-2pm in the Open Court Office at the Hegeler Carus Mansion. The cost is $55/person. In this class you will not only learn this quilting skill, but you will also have a completed project to take home with you.
Beginner’s Lace Making Workshop: No frills, just the basics! Will be held on Monday, February 17th 9am-12pm in the Open Court Office at the Hegeler Carus Mansion. The cost is $65/person and comes with a lacing kit. In this class you will learn the basics of lacemaking, a lost artform. You will also leave with your project as well as the accompanying kit.
Pretty in Pink Galentine’s Cake Class with Blue-Eyed Rascal Baking Company will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 5:30-7pm in the Open Court Office at the Hegeler Carus Mansion. The cost is $55/person. In this class you will learn some incredible icing tricks and will be able to take your decorated cake home, if you can refrain from eating it on the way!
A Brush with History: Brushing Up on Self Care (Brushing Class) with Destination Hairstylist, Vittoria Wurl will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 3:30-5pm in the Communication Hall of the Hegeler Carus Living Quarters. The cost is $50/person. In this class you will learn some fundamental skills for brushing that will enhance your level of self-care for years to come.
Pre-registration is required, and space is limited in each of these programs.
